Opened in August 2010, Krueger Grealis & Associates was the general contractor for the $1.5 million renovation of this 100-year-old home that was designed by the Abram Garfield, the youngest son of President James A. Garfield. Built for S. Livingston Mather, the Gries Center is located in the University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland.

Formerly a 10,480 sf. mansion with 11 bedrooms, the Gries Center is now an 11,410 sf., 7 classroom, extension of the lower and upper school campuses with state of the art audio/visual and wi-fi capabilities. Included in the scope of work was the modernization of all mechanical systems, full exterior rehabilitation and a 930 sf. addition at the rear of the house to accommodate Hawken's 1000+ staff and students.

With tremendous care and respect taken in maintaining the architectural integrity of this Cleveland landmark, the Gries Center serves as KGA's 3rd successful addition to Magnolia Dr., and what University Circle Inc. is calling "Education Row."
